I feel more positive after speaking to my own OB. She said the numbers were great. What we will do is plan another detailed u/s and blood test at 16 weeks and if that also looks good there will be no amnio. If it shows up some markers, we can do the amnio then. So at the moment no amnio is planned.
This is what one step at a time looks like. Getting from one week to the next. However I'm feeling more confident now.
Next week I am getting the H1N1 vaccine..... and will be one of the first pregnant women in this country to get it, since the doses will only be delivered to doctors next week. Not a situation I like, but on the other hand I don't relish getting swine flu either and will be unable to relax whilst travelling to and being in the UK with my family at Christmas. My OB recommended that my husband got the vaccine too as soon as it's available for him (after the first wave is done) and that paediatrician advice may have changed since I last saw Beanie's doc - he might get the vaccine too.
I told the people at daycare I was pregnant and they said that they had been wondering very strongly about it. It's true that bump #4 is not possible to hide anymore. I'm going back to work after 3 weeks away from the office - training plus vacation - and need to get a hold of my manager today to warn him.
When I told daycare, I also told them that pregnancy wasn't necessarily joyous for me as my first son had died. And the woman I was speaking to said she understood as her first son died at birth and he would have been 18 this year. He died from a malformation that wasn't detectable on u/s. She said we could talk together sometime.
It never ceases to "amaze" me all the sad events people have lived through.
